“Through the last half decade, some of the nicest Trans Am restorations and rest-mods existent have come out of Restore a Muscle Car, including some extraordinary SD455 Trans Ams. And regardless of how die-hard Mopar you are, allow us to assure you, driving an SD455 Trans Am is an experience you will never forget! In the middle of all this Pontiac and occasional Camaro activity, Wayne Heine showed up over at Restore a Muscle Car back in early 2008 and told Dave he had a ’72 Charger he’d bought brand-new and he wanted the car restored and updated so he could drive it again.”… “Mechanically, there have been a few changes from the days when the 318 ruled the engine bay. Dave located a 2007 SRT-8 Charger that had been totaled, and this new generation Charger gave up a number of components for its older namesake. The 6.1 Hemi is straight out of the low mileage ’07 Charger and it was fitted with a cold air intake, dual electric fuel pumps, and custom-made 3” TTI headers. The modern Hemi is backed up by a ProMotion Transmission six-speed manual Viper transmission, spinning a PST 4” aluminum drive shaft. The rumble out back comes through a pair of polished Magnaflow mufflers."
